* Stomfa, 30 October 1819 – † Budapest, 16 March 1881 / hydraulic engineer, royal councillor ; ; One of the managers of the river regulation and canal construction in Hungary that began in the middle of the 19th century. He first worked at the Tisza regulation, then was the head of the regulation of the Pest section of the Danube. In 1863, together with Károly Bodoki and Frigyes Boros, he prepared the plan of the Upper Tisza–Érvölgy–Körös canal. His surviving technical writing is the Chief Engineer's Report on the Left Bank Danube Dam and the Drainage of the Turján-Őrjeg Water (1859), which provides a lot of important information about the construction work of the time and the methods of overcoming technical obstacles.
