Balazs Keszegh

* Komárom, December 16, 1981 – / mathematician ; ; He completed his primary school education in his hometown. He started high school in Komárom, but from 1996 he was a student at the Fazekas Mihály High School in Budapest, where he graduated in 2000. He won a silver medal at the International Mathematical Student Olympiad in 1999 and 2000. Between 2000 and 2005 he was a student at the Faculty of Mathematics of ELTE in Budapest and obtained a diploma in mathematics in 2005. In 2005–2009 he was a doctoral student at the Institute of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics of the Central European University in Budapest, and he received his PhD degree in 2009 based on his thesis entitled Combinatorial and computational problems about points in the plane. Between 2008 and 2011, he was an assistant professor at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics. Since September 2011, he has been a member of the Alfréd Rényi Institute of Mathematics.
