Gyula Kereskenyi

* Léva, April 9, 1835 – † Érd, August 7, 1911 / Catholic deacon, archaeologist, historian ; ; He was the scion of an old noble, landowning family. He completed his schooling in Léva, Nyitra and Pannonhalma, at the Benedictine college. After joining the Premontre order in Csorna, he became a teacher at the Keszthely gymnasium, then studied linguistics in Vienna and obtained a secular teaching certificate. However, at the request of his mother, he undertook service in the church field and was ordained a priest in 1860. After that, he was a priest in various settlements. In 1866, he came to Érd as an assistant pastor, where he was the parish priest of the town until his retirement in 1906. In addition to his pastoral work, he was active in literature and gained recognition as a local historian and archaeologist of Érd.
