* Antonius Cassoviensis, Joannes, Kassa, 1496 – † Kraków, 1548 / humanist writer, physician ; ; We have little reliable information about his life. He studied in Vienna, Padua, Basel and Kraków. He was in contact with the most outstanding humanists of his time, including Erasmus of Rotterdam, whom he probably treated. Between 1520 and 1525 he was also the personal physician of King Louis II of Hungary. Even before the Battle of Mohács in 1526, he went to Kraków and worked there until his death.
