* Kislibercse, December 11, 1895 – † Celldömölk, January 22, 1987 / mathematics teacher, textbook writer ; ; His father was a manorial farm officer, Márton was the third of five children. He graduated from the Szarvas gymnasium in 1913. He studied mathematics and physics at the Budapest University of Science and Technology, and after the outbreak of World War I, he enlisted, but was shot in the head, so he was discharged. The bullet remained in his body for the rest of his life. Having obtained his teaching certificate, he became a permanent teacher at the Kiskunhalas Ref. Gymnasium in September 1920. From the 1930s onwards, he was an active participant in the debates related to the reform of mathematics education, and he expressed his views in the columns of the Protestant Educational Review. In his opinion, a good textbook is a well-compiled collection of examples, and the basis of teaching is the use of example work. Clear ideas should be communicated in simple language and in short. Rules and definitions are secondary, the goal is to accustom students to logical thinking. He was commissioned to write several mathematics textbooks, some of which were published in the 1938/39 academic year, and the rest were completed by 1942. He also planned to write physics textbooks, but due to the lack of time, Miklós Nagy and Béla Dombi, who shared his views, were asked to do so. He was a strict, but humane and just teacher who launched many excellent educators into the profession. From 1949, he was a teacher at the Celldömölk Gymnasium, and from 1954 to 1957, he was its principal. After his retirement, which was ordered from above, he taught as a teacher on a contract basis for ten more years.
