* Bán, October 12, 1858 – † Trenčín, October 26, 1917/ agriculturalist, professional writer ; ; He graduated from the Economic Academy of Magyaróvár in 1882, after which he worked as an apprentice on his father's farm. He went on a study trip abroad to increase his professional knowledge, then he began to deal with the problems of growing various crops (wheat, corn, potatoes and industrial plants) and published numerous articles on this. The Department of Plant Production of the Agricultural College in Halle invited him to lecture as a potato growing expert.
