* Somorja, 21 April 1821 – † Magyaróvár, 28 January 1900 / historian, religious teacher, heraldist ; ; His family name was Béla Jancsik, until 1869 he was known and published as Ede Jancsik (this was his monastic name). His father was a teacher in Somorja, then the family moved to Bratislava in 1824. Ivánfi completed his high school studies here. In 1837 he became a Piarist monk and obtained a teaching qualification in Privigyé. He was a probationary teacher in Sátoraljaújhely for two years, then he studied philosophy and theology in Vác, Nyitra and Szentgyörgy. He was ordained a priest in 1846, then worked in various cities (Debrecen, Máramarossziget, Nagybecskerek, Timisoara, Budapest, Vác, Veszprém, Sátoraljaújhely – he was also the director here), and finally in 1879 he moved to Magyaróvár, where he taught history at the Piarist high school until 1891, when he retired. He participated in the establishment of the Moson County Historical and Archaeological Society (he was its vice-president for a long time), which was transformed into a museum in 1887. ; He primarily dealt with heraldry, local history and school history, and also studied the methodology of teaching history and its auxiliary sciences abroad. His three-volume work on Moson County remained in manuscript170, which is kept in the Hanság Museum. He published his studies in the Centuries, the Archeologiai Értesítő and the Győri Hörténelmi és Árégesztéti Büzetek. He had a valuable collection of coins and seals.
