Everyone knew Aladár Igó in Gömör, but perhaps beyond Gömör as well. Many people visited him and enjoyed his delicious Paloc regional dialect. In recognition of his artistic work preserving the most beautiful Hungarian folk traditions, he was awarded the Officer's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary by the President of the Republic of Hungary on August 20, 2004. Ferenc Mádl personally visited him at his home in Hanva. He also painted the landscape beautifully and brought art to wood and stone.
