Vága, from the first half of the 1940s; 77 people from Vága lost their lives for the Hungarian homeland in World War I. The village surrendered to the Czech military at the end of January 1919, after it had been surrounded for days. After the units of the Hungarian Soviet Republic recaptured Érsekújvár on June 3, the units of the Hungarian Soviet Republic were stationed in the village the next day. The occupying Czech military fired into the protesting Hungarian crowd, which, in addition to numerous wounded, also had several fatalities.
