* Ruszt, March 13, 1754 – † Bratislava, March 29, 1803 / physician, specialist writer ; ; He began his schooling in his hometown and continued in Sopron. He completed his medical studies at the universities of Vienna and Nagyszombat. He was the chief physician of the city of Bratislava and the author of numerous medical and natural science studies. The new era of healthcare in Hungary is associated with his name, as he defines the new science, medical policing, considered the predecessor of public health, in his main work as follows: “Medical policing is the science that includes the basic principles according to which the state ensures the maintenance of the health and life of its subjects. It is a theoretical science, but if the ruler gives such an order, it becomes practical”.
