* Bratislava, October 11, 1749 – † Vienna, December 12, 1835 / Jesuit monk, linguist ; ; He entered the Jesuit order in 1765, and from 1777 to 1795 he taught Arabic, Persian and Turkish at the Vienna Oriental Academy. From 1785 he was the director of the institute. From 1795 he was a titular abbot of Kács, and from 1818 he was a titular abbot of Lekér. His manuscript works concern oriental languages and history, as well as the history of Austria, Poland and Russia. He collected Turkish proverbs and sayings. He acquired 20,000 oriental business letters for the collection of the Vienna Oriental Academy. He contributed to the following works: Lexicon Arabico-Persico-Turcicum, 1780, Historia priorom regum Persarum post firmatum in hoc regno islamismum, 1782, Fundgruben des Orients, 1809–1810.
