At the beginning of the century, he was a member of the so-called house committee of the transport committee of the capital city council, which provided companies managed by the capital with vehicles and ensured the development of car transport. From 1912, he was the CEO of the first Hungarian car factory, the Magyar Automobil Rt. Arad (MARTA). He participated in the launch of car taxi transport in Budapest. From 1913, he was the director and then CEO of the car taxi company. The Hungarian Railways Car Transport Rt. (MAVART) later became MÁVAUT, or He was one of the founders of VOLÁN's legal predecessor. He designed the MAVART garage on Lőportár Street. He founded the company also known as Szürketaxi. The involvement of motorized vehicles in the postal service began in the 1900s. In May 1905, the delivery automobile, which was designed by János Csonka, a workshop manager at the Technical University, traveled its first kilometers. Haltenberger came into contact with cars at the Post Office, as an engineer he supervised the production of several plants, and he drove the types himself, but over the years he found it increasingly difficult to coordinate his work properly. He left the Post Office in 1912, and in that same year he conducted the negotiations between the Budapest Metropolitan Council and the Hungarian Automobile Company Arad (Marta), according to which taxi traffic in Budapest started on June 13, 1913 – with two hundred Marta rental cars. The Benz Hungarian Automobile and Motor Factory Co. also received permission to operate 50 vehicles commercially, but the competition was not resolved because the two companies merged in December 1913 under the name Budapesti Automobil Közlekedési Rt.
