* Košice, September 2, 1888 – † Budapest, February 4, 1972 / geographer, university professor ; ; He finished high school in Košice, university in Budapest in 1906–1908, in Greifswald in 1908–1910 and received his doctorate there. In 1911 he obtained a secondary school teacher's certificate in Budapest. From 1910 he was a candidate teacher at the Budapest II. District Catholic High School, in 1911–1912 he taught in Miskolc, and in 1914–1916 at the Levoča Catholic High School. In 1912–1913 he went to the USA on a scholarship. From the autumn of 1916 to 1934 he taught again in Budapest at various secondary schools. In 1918, he was qualified as a private teacher of morphology and general transport and commercial geography at the Budapest University of Science and Technology, and in 1930 he received the title of extraordinary teacher. In 1928, he became a private teacher of economic geography at the Technical University. In 1924–1926, he was a teacher at the University of Tartu, where he lectured in German and organized oceanographic research in the Baltic Sea. After returning home, he participated in the training of Hungarian naval officers for several years. In 1934–1944, he was the director of the Capital Pedagogical Seminary, and from 1945 until his retirement, he was a teacher at the Eötvös Gymnasium in Budapest. He was a member of numerous Hungarian and foreign professional societies. He was the first to write a summary work on the geography of Budapest.
