Rudolf Gyulai Rezso

* Terézváros, May 2, 1848 – † Budapest, October 12, 1906 / Benedictine teacher, local historian of Komárom ; ; In 1849, he moved to Komárom with his family and began his school studies there. He graduated from high school in Bratislava. In 1864, he entered the Benedictine order. He obtained a high school teacher's certificate and taught in Kőszeg, Pannonhalma, and Esztergom. In 1877, he settled in Komárom, where he became involved in local cultural and intellectual life. He wrote local history studies, then began working on the Komárom county monograph, which was later incorporated into the series of county monographs by Samu Borovszky. From the 1890s, he wrote less and less and also turned away from public life.
