* Levoca, December 10, 1876 – † Keszthely, October 14, 1945 / gardener, academy teacher ; ; He was the grandson of György Györök, printer and school principal of Somorja. He continued his studies at the Budapest Horticultural Institute, then on a scholarship in Paris, where he studied park design, ornamental gardening and pomology. Returning home in 1900, he worked in the horticultural gardens of the agricultural schools in Komárom, in 1913–1915 he was a lecturer in the horticultural department of the Košice Academy of Economics, between 1915–1919 he served at the Magyaróvár Academy of Economics and was also the chief gardener of the Academy. During the Soviet Republic, he was the head of the horticultural vocational education department in the Ministry of Agriculture. After the fall of the Soviet Republic, he worked as the chief gardener at the Debrecen Academy of Economics, retiring in 1937. He published extensively in professional literature and created numerous garden plans. He was a contributor to the magazines Kertészeti Lapok, Háztársas, and Hangya, and also illustrated professional books.
