István Tihamér Gyárfas

* Léva, December 14, 1863 – † Bánya Beszterce, December 12, 1916 priest, high school teacher ; ; He graduated from high school in Nagyszombat and theology at the University of Budapest. He was ordained a priest in 1887. He taught Hungarian and Latin at the high school in Nagyszombat, and in 1889 he received a doctorate in archaeology at the University of Budapest. In 1891 he was a chaplain in Nagyssallo, in 1892 in Udvard, and then he took up a teaching position with the Széchenyi family in Felsőlendva. From 1893 he was a high school teacher in Brassó. In addition to his teaching work, he primarily dealt with the history of the applied arts of Transylvania and the history of culture.
