At first he was a military doctor, then from 1860 he worked as a doctor in Nagyida and Abaújszántó, later he was a district surgeon in Košice. From August 1869 he was again a military doctor, and in 1876 he was awarded the rank of colonel of the army. A translation of his work was published in the Atheneum in 1842.
