Peel one kilo of potatoes, mash them with 10 deca of potato masher and 4 cloves of garlic. Pour off the potato juice so that it absorbs less flour. Mix the mixture with salt and pepper and beat in an egg. Mix in as much flour as it absorbs and make it hard enough to form small dumplings with floured hands. Cook in hot water until they float to the top of the water. Serve drizzled with onion and paprika fat. Some people also pour a little of the cooking juice on top to make it a bit soupy.
