* Nagyvárad, February 3, 1858 – Losonc, January 1933 / secondary school mathematics teacher, textbook writer ; ; Later he also used the surname Gedő. He completed his university studies in Budapest and Vienna. After that, he worked as an educator for six years, then taught as a teacher candidate at the Budapest training school. In 1886 he taught in Nagyvárad, in 1887 he was transferred to the Mihály Fazekas Real School in Debrecen by József Kürschák (1864–1933), the later legendary mathematics professor and academician, where he spent 4 years. He taught in Nagykálló from 1891 to 1895, in Nagykároly for a short time from 1895, and then in Losonc until his retirement in 1924. He was known as an excellent teacher, he himself compiled the exam problems, many of which were published in the Secondary School Mathematical Journal (Kömal). Several of Losonci's students (Gyula Póka, Béla Bayer and others) came first in the national mathematics or Eötvös competition, and were successful solvers of the problems published by Kömal. ; ; His main works: ; Algebra (textbook), 1895, ; Algebra for the lower grades of secondary schools, volumes 1-2 ; (Prague–Bratislava), 1923.
