Joseph Gruber

* Korompa, 5 November 1915 – † Budapest, 26 November 1972 / mechanical engineer, ; university professor ; ; He graduated from the József Nádor University of Technology and Economics in Budapest in 1938. He began his career at the Ganz factory, then was an assistant professor at the Aerodynamics Institute of the Technical University until 1947. He was a design engineer at the Zugló Machine Factory from 1947 to 1950. He returned to the Technical University in 1950 and was the head of the Department of Fluid Dynamics until his death. In the meantime, he served as the dean of the university's Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (1953–1955), and then as the rector of the university (1961–1963). He is credited with the mathematical description of the flow between stationary and rotating blade grids. ; ; His main works: ; Bladed water machines (with Á.
