* Losonc, 1860 – † Budapest, December 1, 1918 / chemical engineer ; ; He obtained a diploma from the Budapest University of Technology in 1884. He then organized (1902) and developed the MÁV materials testing laboratory into a modern institute according to his own plans. He collected Hungarian coal types and performed their complete analysis. He introduced the Wartha Vince soda-lime water softening process and the regular testing of domestic waters used for boiler feed at the railway. His investigations in the field of sleeper saturation are also notable. He often published smaller articles and answered readers' questions in the Journal of Natural Sciences.
