* Levoca, 10 August 1836 – † Selmecbánya, 26 January 1906 / mining engineer, writer on the history of technology ; ; He graduated from high school in Prešov and the mining academy in Selmecbánya in 1859, after which he worked as a mining apprentice. In 1862, he was assigned to Vienna as a mining officer candidate, but in the same year he was transferred to Selmecbánya to supervise the crushing plants. In 1865, he was appointed assistant professor at the Academy's Department of Descriptive Geometry and Architecture, later assistant professor at the Department of Mining Engineering and then at the Department of Mining Management. In 1871, he became a mining engineer at the Mining Office in Hegybánya. In 1881 he was appointed to the position of chief of the mining office in Hegybánya, and in 1883 he was again appointed to the Selmec Academy as a teacher of mining. Several papers were published in the Mining and Metallurgical Journals and the Oest. Zeitschrift für Berg u. Hüttenwesen (e.g. Das Grubenunglück in Hodritsch, 1879, The Extinction of the József-akna Mine in Salgótarján, 1889, Investigation of the Formations 1889, etc.). His textbook entitled Mining Science remained in manuscript.
