* Levski, June 14, 1904 – † Budapest, August 25, 1982 / mechanical engineer, university professor ; ; He graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Budapest University of Technology in 1928, then began his career as a design engineer in the lifting and transport equipment design department of the Ganz Shipyard. He was appointed chief engineer in 1938, and department head in 1944. Between 1949 and 1951, he headed the crane design department of the State Industrial Design Office, from 1951 to 1954 he was the technical head of the Crane Design Office, and between 1954 and 1960 he was the head of the Machine Design Office. From 1952 he taught part-time, and from 1960 he taught full-time at the lifting equipment department of the University of Technology. He worked there until his retirement in 1971, but he participated in teaching until 1975. He designed several mechanical products at the Ganz Ship and Crane Factory, including a floating crane used for post-war reconstruction (the harbor and floating cranes he designed were even shipped to Argentina). His studies were published in numerous foreign and Hungarian journals. He did significant scientific work to write university notes in his field.
