Gottwald's symbolic funeral in Felsőszeli

Gottwald's symbolic funeral took place in the village square. Previously, on March 17, 1953, a delegation took the wreaths to Prague (Pavol Divičan, Sándor Nagy and Rudolf Kertész), and then on March 19, the farewell ceremony was held in front of the public of the residents. The picture depicts the pioneers and members of the youth organization standing in front of the village hall, with Pavol Divičan in front of them, who also gave a ceremonial speech. On the left are other village elders. About two thousand people said goodbye to the country's prime minister. They listened to the official funeral speech on the radio, and then expressed their sorrow with flowers.
