* Rozsnyó, 1708. May 5. – † Győr, 1795. October 14. / physician, naturalist; ; studied in Csetnek, Késmárk, Sopron and Bratislava. In the Szepesség he trained as a physician under Dániel Fischer (Késmárk) for two years, and then as a semimedicus he went to Jena, where he studied between 1731–1733 and obtained his medical degree. He returned to his hometown, but in 1734 he settled in Győr and became a city physician. In addition to his healing work, he also dealt with mathematics, physics and alchemy. His alchemist colleagues were Count Lajos Török, Johannes Bergen, General Ventz, and the Reformed priest Mihály Pápai Molnár. Maria Theresa raised him to the rank of nobleman in 1741, along with his brother János Gömöry. He was interested in the possibility of protection against infectious diseases, especially cholera. He is the author of several treatises in Latin.
