* Levoca, 7 August 1865 – † Cluj-Napoca, 7 July 1921 / doctor, university professor ; ; Orphaned at an early age, his uncle, Antal Genersich (Nagyszombat), took him under his wing and guided him into the medical profession. He completed his secondary school studies in his hometown, graduating there in 1883. He obtained his medical doctorate from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Cluj-Napoca in 1888. He initially worked as a surgeon, then turned to internal medicine. From 1894, he headed the children's laboratory of the Budapest Internal Medicine Clinic. He also taught at the university and in 1896, he obtained a private teaching qualification. In 1903, his six-year-old son Sándor died of scarlet fever, and pediatrics became his main field of expertise. He worked especially hard to prevent epidemics. In 1904, he was entrusted with the management of the Hungarian Royal State Children's Asylum in Cluj-Napoca. ; In the following years, he established so-called children's colonies in 21 places in Transylvania. He organized a counseling center for pregnant women, worked a lot in the field of infant protection, and also dealt with child psychology. From 1904, pediatrics became a mandatory subject at the University of Cluj-Napoca, which he lectured on, and from 1917 as a professor. As a researcher, he primarily dealt with pediatric tuberculosis and planned to write a comprehensive pediatric textbook. However, the Romanian occupation of 1918 and the change of empire prevented him from doing so. The University of Cluj-Napoca was moved to Szeged, but he remained in Cluj-Napoca and continued his medical work. The excitement and hardships he experienced undermined his health and this caused his early death. His remains rest in the Lutheran section of the Házsongárd cemetery.
