Arpad Galocsy

* Tarnóc, May 15, 1864 – † Budapest, November 26, 1934 / smelting engineer, professional editor ; ; He obtained his diploma at the Selmecbánya Academy in 1888, while also teaching at the Department of Descriptive Geometry. He worked for a short time in Austria, later in Transylvania, and from 1896 he was the manager of the Rimamurány-Salgótarjáni Vasmű Rt. rolling mill in Ózd. In his studies, he primarily dealt with gas generating equipment and the theory of rolling. He was the first to construct and use a forming machine in Hungary. The results of his fundamental experiments were used and published decades later by Ernő Cotel (Selmecbánya), a professor at the Technical University, in his work The Principles of Rolling (1928). From 1903 to 1911, he was the editor of the Mining and Metallurgical Journals. As president of the Mining and Metallurgy Association (from 1921), he played a leading role in the engineering movements of the 1920s, and was also involved in right-wing political organizations. In the 1920s, he published and edited the biweekly journal Közérdekű leafek, which sought to spread anti-Marxist views among the workers.
