In 1970-1975, he received an engineering diploma in dosimetry and applied ionizing radiation from the Faculty of Nuclear Physics and Engineering Physics of the Czech Technical University in Prague. During his studies in Prague, he was also a member of the literary stage of the Ady Endre Student Circle. Later, in 1989-1992, he studied at the Institute of Continuing Medical Education in Bratislava and obtained a medical physicist qualification in nuclear medicine, radiodiagnostics and radiotherapy. In 1975-1978, he worked as a dosimetrist at the Jászló Nuclear Power Plant. Between 1978 and 1984, he worked as a nuclear safety and environmental protection expert at the Moh Nuclear Power Plant Investment Department of the Bratislava Energy Investment Company. In 1984 and 1986, he launched the first Slovak laboratory for radiation measurement standards at the Slovak Metrology Institute in Bratislava. From 1986 to 1989, he was the head of the medical technology investment department at the Oncology Institute in Bratislava (now: St. Elizabeth Oncology Institute), and then between 1988 and 2010, he was a medical physicist, dosimetrist, radiation protection inspector and expert, university lecturer and project manager there. Until 2010, he was one of the managers of the organization, planning and implementation of projects. He introduced and put into operation the first positron emission tomography (PET) in Slovakia at the Nuclear Medicine Clinic of the St. Elizabeth Oncology Institute in Bratislava (2000). In addition, he actively participated in the introduction of new radiological, isotope diagnostic and isotope therapy methods, as well as radiopharmaceuticals, in the development of professional bills and regulations. As a university lecturer, he participated in the radiation protection training of doctors and nurses, and between 1986 and 2009 in the preparation of nuclear physics and biophysics students at the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics of the Comenius University in Bratislava and in the supervision of their diploma theses. He has received several professional awards and recognitions, including the Lifetime Achievement Award of the Slovak Nuclear Society, and in 2002 he received the Silver Plaque of the Government of the Slovak Republic, as well as the János Esterházy Memorial Medal for National Minorities.
