Visit of Finnish priests in Felsőszeli

On June 3-4, 1934, Finnish guests visited the Lutheran congregation. The provost of Helsinki, Yrjő Loimaranta, superintendent Matti Pesonen and the principal of the high school, F. A. Hästesko, were present. At the end of the village, at the Rakottyási bridge, a 25-member mounted band led by Aladár Lovas awaited the guests and escorted them into the village. The distinguished guests were welcomed by Reverend János Endreffy, pastor Ödön Fizély and Lajos Jánossy. Then the judge and most recently elected church superintendent of the village, Ernő Soós, gave a welcoming speech. On behalf of the congregation, a 60-member choir presented itself with four-part songs conducted by teacher Lajos Hasák, Sr. The girls scattered rose petals in front of the parish. Some pictures were also taken of the memorable celebration. This was made in front of the altar of the Lutheran church and depicts the maidens and the Finnish guests.
