* Szobotist, 24 August 1844 – † Budapest, 25 November 1902 / physician, ophthalmologist, university professor ; ; He obtained his doctorate and master's degree in ophthalmology in Vienna in 1872. In 1873, he was an assistant professor at the Cluj-Napoca eye clinic. In 1874, he was a private teacher. After a study trip abroad and military medical service, in 1886 he became a state public health inspector, and in 1893, chief physician at the István Hospital. In 1895, he was an extraordinary professor at the University of Budapest. He was one of the organizers of the fight against trachoma and the first such government commissioner. He is credited with the creation of the first anti-trachoma law (1886). His study on keratitis neuroparalytica is significant. ; ; F. m.: Trachoma guide.
