* Jolsva, November 19, 1859 – † Ózd, September 29, 1912 / ironworks engineer, inventor ; ; He began his technical studies at the Technical University in Vienna, then completed them in Selmecbánya and obtained a diploma in ironworks in 1887. Before that, he had been an apprentice in Zólyombrezó, and from 1886 he was an assistant teacher at the Selmecbánya Academy under István Farbaky. In 1890 he was a plant engineer at the open-hearth furnaces in Resicabánya and in 1892 in Zólyomb. In 1896 he became the manager of the Ózd steelworks. He introduced numerous innovations and improvements: the use of double and multiple tap openings in open-hearth furnaces, which allowed for intermediate slag tapping of steel batches and the formation of fresh slag. His method, which improved the possibilities of producing quality steel, preceded the spread of the method abroad by years. His son, Sándor Ferjentsik (Selmecbánya, March 17, 1891 – Ózd, September 30, 1964) was also an ironworks engineer and introduced several innovations in the production of thin sheet metal. He taught at the evening department of the Technical University of Heavy Industry in Miskolc.
