FC DAC 1904 is a football club from Dunaszerdahely. The sports club was founded in 1904 under the name Dunaszerdahely Athletics Club (DAC). ; The city designated an area of two moons for sports on the site of today's Észak I. housing estate. At that time, boxing and athletics were among the popular sports of the time. Football only became part of the DAC in 1909, as on May 22, 1909, the Dunaszerdahely Sports Association (DSE) was founded under the chairmanship of the city's chief civil servant, Ferenc Vermes. Between 1909 and 1914, the club became known for its tennis, chess and football. After the Treaty of Trianon, the sports club re-adopted the name DAC, thus defying the politics of the time. ; The club achieved its real successes in the 1980s. In 1987, they won the Slovak Football Cup, which gave the team a place on the international stage. The team's most significant opponent in the 1988/89 UEFA Cup competition was FC Bayern Munich. It is true that the Bavarian club stopped the DAC team, but the Szerdahely match brought a record number of spectators to the DAC stadium. One of the most significant players of the 80s was Miklós Radványi (multiple home top scorer and later coach). ; The team went through a minor ups and downs in the 1990s, playing in the II. league for years. Our club returned to the I. division championship in the 2008/2009 season, after merging with the ŠK Senec team. ; Since 2014, it has been playing in the championship under the name FC DAC 1904. It is currently in 2nd place in the table. We are confident that the team will maintain this position with the help of head coach Peter Hyballa.
