At the age of 16, he entered the Jesuit order, studied in Vienna and Graz between 1725 and 1731. He taught literature and geometry in Vienna, and after completing the theological course, he was a pastor in Buda and Banská Bystrica. From 1736 to 1741, he taught in the Jesuit convents in Vienna, Graz and Linz. Between 1740 and 1745, he was a Hungarian confessor in Rome, where he became more familiar with Italian and French literature and began to translate and write poetry. In 1746 he taught in Nagyszombat, lectured on theology, and from 1747 he was the deputy director of the Theresianum in Vienna, lecturer on the history of law. From 1748 he managed the printing house in Nagyszombat, and from 1751 he managed the Jesuit monastery and college in Kőszeg. From 1757 to 1773 he was the director of the Jesuit library in Bratislava. After the abolition of the Jesuit order, he lived in Rohonc, on the estate of the Batthyány family, and died here. An outstanding artist of the late Baroque and Rococo. ; ; Only his prose works were published during his lifetime: ; Latin textbooks and Italian-German texts, moralizing works aimed at the education of the privileged class: Noble Man, 1748, Noble Lady, 1748, ; Courtier, 1750; Nobleman, 1771; Holy Man, 1773; Wise Man, 1778.; His poems were only published after his death. All his works were first published by Ferenc Toldy in 1833.
