Vága, 1990; The inscription on the wooden crucifix in the cemetery: JHS MAY THEY REST IN GOD JÁNOS MAGYERKA LIVED 83 YEARS AND DIED 1949 VIKTÓRIA MAGYERKA…; The current cemetery is not the original Vága cemetery. According to tradition, there was a cemetery at the Heroes’ Statue (on the present-day Vedrőd site), but it was swampy. In the Middle Ages, the cemetery was around the church. According to oral tradition, the Turkish cemetery was also in the same place. After the Kuruc Wars, the graves were placed on high hills outside the village, surrounded by a ditch and fenced with a living dam (lycium). The ditch is 3 meters deep and 10 meters wide. The ditch and the lycium still existed in 1970. The ditch was a “pond”. There was also an old wire mesh between the lycium. The cemetery gate was made of wood. In the middle of the original cemetery stood a stone cross. Next to it were the graves of priests, teachers, and wealthy citizens, and the wealthier families were also located near the entrance. The grave mound was marked with a wooden cross.
