Millennium trees in Martos
Other - other
Among the folk traditions in Martos, the spring-waiting round dance before Easter, the pilikézé, is famous. The youth of the village used to go to the shores of Lake Horváth – they greeted the rebirth of nature by dancing. In 1896, on the thousandth anniversary of the conquest, the then students of the elementary school planted seven oak trees next to the lake in honor of the seven leaders. Two of them remain, they are called the millennium trees.
