Gyula Ethey

* Dömös, 18 November 1878 – † Csejte, 3 October 1957 / local historian ; ; Originally his surname was Kraščenič, which he changed in 1917 with permission from the Minister of the Interior, after he was able to prove his direct descent from János Ethey-Kraščenič (Krascsenits) of Töbörétéi, who was granted nobility in 1681. He graduated in law and worked in the county administration, and was also vice-president of the Orvaszék. After World War I. he retired to his estate in Selezsény, but it was confiscated after 1945 and then he moved to his wife's relatives in Csejte. He continuously collected documents relating to old noble families, some of which were destroyed in 1945, but he continued his collecting work after World War II., primarily in the Vágújhely and Trenčín areas. He not only collected these, but also published them in various articles. In 1953, he donated part of his collection to the Trenčín archives, but many of the oldest documents remained in his possession, some of which ended up in an unknown location after his death. His widow also donated about 50 boxes of documents to the Bratislava state archives. His work was described in a study (left behind in manuscript) by the literary historian Sándor Csanda (Kisújfalu). This was published in the Fórum Társadalomtudományi Szemlében by his son, Gábor Csanda, in 2005.
