The picture was taken in 1941. The first communions were prepared by Dr. Dénes Gürtler, a priest who took over the parish of Barti in 1938. Dr. Gürtler did not leave Czechoslovakia even after Trianon. He was a representative of the Czechoslovak National Assembly from 1936. Then, between 1938 and 1944, he was a representative of the Hungarian Parliament, and in 1942, he was the chief advisor to the Hungarian royal government. He was awarded the Order of the Knight's Cross and the Cross of the Defense of the Country. On December 31, 1944, he poisoned himself out of fear of the Russians.
