Paul Yeastztós

* Kolozsnéma, May 6, 1948 – / mechanical engineer, university professor ; ; He began his primary school studies in Nagymegyer, continued in Kolozsnéma and finished in Csicsó (1963). He graduated from the Mechanical Vocational School in Komárno (1967). He obtained a diploma from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Technical University of Bratislava (1972). After completing his studies, he became an assistant professor and aspirant at the Department of Chemical Machines and Equipment of the university. He defended his candidate's dissertation in 1977. At that time, he became an assistant professor at the Department of Elasticity and Solids of the university, and then an associate professor (1988). He gave his lectures on the mechanics of solid and malleable bodies and media. In 1997–2007, he was the head of the Department of Elasticity and Strength of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. In 2007, he defended his thesis on applied mechanics. Since 2007, he has been the deputy head of the Institute of Applied Mechanics and Mechatronics. He was appointed professor in 2009. His research area is technical and applied strength and elasticity, primarily the investigation of sub-processes and stress increase occurring under the influence of heat in nuclear power plants, chemical and petrochemical equipment. So far, he has published nearly a hundred scientific publications independently or jointly with others. He has prepared and implemented more than 100 significant designs for industrial companies. He has participated in numerous scientific projects (VEGA, APVT, CEEPUS, etc.), is the Slovak coordinator of the Atlantis project. He is a member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. He lives in Somorján.
