Laszlo Dudich

* Lekér, March 9, 1901 – † Almásfüzitő, October 26, 1980 / teacher, ethnographic collector, amateur entomologist ; ; He came from a family of teachers in Kántor: his father, Endre Dudich Sr. (Lekér, April 22, 1875 – Zseliz, October 12, 1941) taught as a folk teacher in Lekér between 1899 and 1932, then was forced to retire for political reasons. After graduating from the Sárospatak teacher training school, his son taught in Farnad, Naszvad, Izsa and Lekér until the end of World War II. During the disenfranchisement of Hungarians in Czechoslovakia, in 1947, he fled to Hungary and became a teacher first in Tárkány and then in Almásfüzitő. In June 1956, he was appointed director of the four-class school. He collected folk songs in his native village, Naszvad and Izsa, and donated his 300-page, two-volume collection booklet (Izsai népdalgyűjtemény I-II., 1928) and his monograph Izsa és népe (1932) to the Hungarian Ethnographic Museum in Budapest. In the latter work, he presents the life of the people of Izsa from birth to death, but also summarizes the history of local agriculture, fishing, hunting, and the church. He was attracted to butterflies as a child, and when he settled in Hungary, at the invitation of the Ministry of Agriculture, he began collecting insects himself from 1950 and, together with his fellow teachers, compiled illustrative insect collections not only for the Almásfüzitő school, but also for various primary schools in the country. ; ; His main works: Roman Catholic Church Songs, 1935.
