* 1785 - †  unknown / priest, writer on folk life ; ; ordained as a priest in 1808. According to Ágost Balogh, he was “an ardent priest and patriot, who taught the language of our country to many young people from the countryside with tireless zeal”. He served in Pográny between 1829 and 1857. His first ethnographic work on Zoboralja was published in the journal Regélő under the title “Pográny and its countryside in Nitra County” (1837). In this four-part series of articles, he deals with folk customs, folk games and folk life in general. He was the first to publish a colored engraving of the folk costume of Pográny (this is also the first such depiction of Zoboralja). He was an enlightened, realist man, and before the revolution of 1948 he urged school reforms to the leaders of Nitra County.
