At the grave of Dr. István Kató

During World War II, Dr. István Kató (a doctor from Debrecen) died a heroic death on Fő Street in Hetény. His death was also witnessed by Lajos Vörös Id., a teenager at the time. István Kató was hit by a rifle bullet, and then a tank ran through his body. Grandpa Vörös tried to save the body so that it would not be trampled by other tanks. Therefore, the remains were put in a basket and taken to the cellar of a nearby house. Unfortunately, István Kató could not rest in peace even then, because the cellar was hit by a bomb, so the remains of the body had to be collected again. The boys decided that the soldier deserved to be buried in a marked grave, close to the heroes' monument. They visited the grave regularly to pay their respects. In the picture, Lajos Vörös and Ernő are at the grave, who have sought out the relatives. The surviving sister took her brother home in the 1950s and buried him in a common grave next to his parents and fiancé. They also all lost their lives during the war.
