* Komárom, 26 January 1768 – † Bratislava, 22 May 1845 / canon of Bratislava, poet, translator, honorary member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences ; ; He completed high school in his hometown, philosophy in Bratislava, and theology in Esztergom. In 1800, he became a parish priest in Izsá and maintained a close relationship with Dávid Szabó Baróti (1739–1819), who was spending his retirement years in Virten. In 1816, he was an honorary canon in Gyulafehérvár, Transylvania, for a short time, and then from 1818 he was a reading canon in Bratislava and the director of the Szent Imre educational institution. The Hungarian Academy of Sciences elected him an honorary member in 1831. He also corresponded with Ferenc Kazinczy.
