* Most, March 23, 1494 – † Bánya, 1567 ? / minter, travel writer ; ; He completed his university studies in Vienna and Leipzig, then traveled in Italy, where he came into the circle of the Archbishop of Esztergom, Tamás Bakócz. He arrived in Hungary with the cardinal in 1514, where he later entered the service of György Thurzó and moved to Bánya in 1517. Elek Thurzó appointed him head of the mint in Nagybánya. From 1525 he worked as the treasurer of the Fugger-Thurzó company and remained in this position during the attacks against the company. In 1528–1529 he was the inspector of the Transylvanian salt mines. In addition to his work, he collected manuscripts and books, and noted down various inscriptions carved into stone from the Roman period in Latin and other languages. In 1553, Antal Verancsics, later Archbishop of Esztergom, accompanied him on an embassy trip to Istanbul and other Turkish cities, and it was then that he recorded one of the best-known Hungarian-language runic inscriptions20.
