* Bratislava, January 26, 1829 – † Bratislava, January 16, 1895 / titular bishop, church historian, university professor, corresponding member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (1881) ; ; He completed his studies in Nagyszombat, the Pazmaneum in Vienna and the Augustineum. In 1857 he was appointed a teacher at the Pazmaneum, and from 1868 he was the director of the Esztergom seminary as a canon. In 1889 he became provost of Bratislava, and in 1890 he became bishop of Pristina. He also conducted art history research, mainly in Italy and Germany. He carried out extensive work on church history. At that time he was considered the most significant Catholic biblical expert.
