Francis Danis

* Egeg, January 16, 1931 – / teacher, agricultural engineer, local historian ; ; He graduated from the Ipolyság high school in 1951. He worked as a laborer for years, and in 1956 he graduated from the Nitra University of Agriculture, majoring in crop production. From 1956 to 1960, he was an employee of the agricultural department of the then Ipolyság District Office. When the Ipolyság district ceased to exist in 1960 due to the administrative reorganization of the country, he was a teacher and then deputy director of the Ipolyság Agricultural Vocational School, and from 1968, its director, until his retirement in 1994. In addition to his teaching work, he was also involved in cultural organization and local history writing. After 1990, he was one of the initiators of the relaunch of the Honti Museum in Ipolyság and the establishment of the Simonyi Lajos Gallery. As the first director, he worked hard to expand the museum and gallery's collection. From 1993, he was the editor-in-chief of Honti Lapok for years, and often reported on cultural events in Ipolyság and Honti for the central Hungarian newspapers in Slovakia. He wrote numerous local history publications about Ipolyság and his native village.
