Joseph Danielik

* Murányalja, April 5, 1821 – † Bratislava, June 18, 1886 / journalist, church writer, ; postmaster ; ; He completed his high school studies in Podolin and Rozsnyó, then served as a volunteer until 1844, then as a non-commissioned officer in the army. He participated in the War of Independence, and was appointed lieutenant of the Zemplén–Gömör volunteer battalion by the Minister of War Lázár Mészáros, later reaching the rank of captain. From 1851 he was a collaborator of his brother, Nepomuk János Danielik's newspaper Religio in Pest. From 1853 he was an official of the Szent István Társulat, from 1856 its secretary, from 1858 its director. From 1860 he lived in Eger. In 1861 he was the editor of the Egri Értesítő, in 1862 of the Egri Posta, from 1867 he was a secretary to the Ministry of Trade, from 1871 a departmental advisor. Between 1878 and 1884 he was the head of the Bratislava postal administration. He compiled the first volume of his collection of biographies entitled Hungarian Writers (I–II. Pest, 1856–58) together with Zsigmond Jakab Ferenczy, while the second volume was based on his own collection.
