* Vágfarkasd, 4 November 1772 – † after 1833 / lawyer, historical writer ; ; He also wrote his name as Somogyi Cs. Sándor. He was a Reformed Christian, but converted to the Catholic faith. He was the head of the economic office for the Baron Podmaniczky family. He published regularly in contemporary newspapers, and translated the comedy A kisvárosiak by the fashionable author of the time, August von Kotzebue (1761–1819). He also wrote historical works. His wife, Borbála Kelemen (? – 1839), also translated, and in 1807 Karoline Pichler’s (1769–1843) novel Hasonlatosságok was published in her translation. Their son Károly Somogyi (Tiszaföldvár, April 1, 1811 – Esztergom, March 20, 1888) was a canon of Esztergom, library founder, and member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
