* Szepesváralja, November 11, 1732 – † Igló, January 11, 1813 / Lutheran pastor, poet, naturalist, geographer, flora researcher ; ; He completed his school studies in Dobsina, Levoca, and between 1749 and 1752 in Bratislava, where he was also taught by János Tomka-Szászky (Folkusfalva). He studied theology at the universities of Halle and Göttingen. In 1756 he returned to Hungary and became a Lutheran pastor in Igló. From 1783 he was also the 16th ev. senior of the city of Spis. In addition to his work, he collected medals, Hungarian historical seals, manuscripts and minerals in the Spisség region, and had a famous library. His manuscripts on church history and geography have survived. Among his articles written in German, the best known is a two-part description of the geographical, natural history and flora of the Carpathians (Beschreibung des Karpathischen Gebirges aus der Handschrift eines unbekannten Verfassers, Karpatische Bergreise auf den Krivan, sammt dabei gemachten Beobachtungen). He also published poems, book reviews and articles on numismatics in the Ungarisches Magazin in Bratislava and the Vienna K. K. priv. Anzeigen magazine. His collection and library were purchased by András Cházár (Jólész) and donated to the Evangelical Gymnasium in Rožňava.
