* Buda, 1836 – † Lucsivna, August 9, 1906 / mining engineer, academic ; teacher ; ; He was orphaned early. In order to continue his studies, he worked as a factory worker. In 1856–1858 he studied at the Vienna University of Technology, then in 1858–1862 he was a student at the Mining and Forestry Academy in Selmecbánya. Then he entered the treasury service: he worked in Govasdia, Kapnikbánya and Nagybánya. From 1872 he was an assistant teacher at the Mining and Forestry Academy in Selmecbánya, then an extraordinary teacher, and from 1878 a regular teacher. From 1894 he was awarded the title of chief mining advisor, and retired in 1902. At that time he moved to Budapest. In 1892–1894 he was the editor of the Mining and Metallurgical Journals. He designed numerous surveying and mine surveying instruments (Cséti-style shaft alignment, tachymeter, theodolite, measuring table, etc.). With his professional work, he created the Hungarian-language mine surveying and geodetic literature.
