Agota Csehy

* Komárom, March 27, 1966 – / musicologist, music teacher, pianist, associate professor ; ; He began his school studies in his hometown. Between 1980 and 1985 he was a student at the Bratislava Conservatory, and between 1985 and 1990 he studied piano and musicology at the Academy of Drama and Music. In 1989 and 1990 and 1993 and 1994 he was a scholarship holder at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest. In 1995 he received a doctoral degree from the ELTE Faculty of Music and Performing Arts in Budapest, and in 2003 he received a PhD in music pedagogy. Between 1990 and 2004 he was an assistant professor and then associate professor at the Konstantin Philosopher University in Nitra, teaching music literature, music interpretation, and chamber music. Since 2004, he has been an associate professor at the University of Ostrava in the department of music theory and music pedagogy. In parallel, he has taught piano at the Komárom Elementary School of Arts since 1999, and was the school's director between 1999 and 2002. He currently teaches at the Konstantin Philosophical University in Nitra. As a researcher, he primarily deals with issues related to Béla Bartók's collections in the Highlands. He is one of the organizers of the Kadosa Pál Piano Competition in Léva. He also performs regularly as a pianist.
